Types of Building Roofs Suitable for Organic Asphalt Shingles

Combined with product characteristics, climate conditions and construction requirements, the applicable scenarios are detailed as follows:

1. Main Applicable Buildings

  1. Low-rise residential buildingsSingle-family houses, rural self-built homes, wooden houses and country-style villas. This is the most typical application scenario. The moderate roof slope meets construction and load-bearing requirements, and the shingles create a perfect match for retro architectural styles.
  2. Old roof renovation projectsProjects where old tiles or outdated waterproof layers need replacement. The shingles fit well with existing roof substrates, feature easy installation and low renovation costs, and require no major structural reinforcement.
  3. Small auxiliary buildingsLow-rise outbuildings such as garden annexes, garages, warehouses, gate houses and small farm buildings. They are cost-effective and highly practical for these structures.
  4. Retro & antique-style buildingsFolk-style architecture, antique homestays, cultural tourism town buildings and rural landscape structures. The solid texture of the shingles perfectly restores the traditional roof appearance.

2. Mandatory Roof Slope Requirement

Only suitable for pitched roofs with a slope of 18.5° (4:12) or above.Flat roofs and low-slope roofs are not allowed. Standing water on gentle slopes will cause the organic base mat to absorb moisture, bulge and rot rapidly.

3. Suitable Climate Zones

  • Recommended: Cold, dry and low-rainfall temperate or northern regions. The shingles maintain excellent flexibility and resist cracking in low temperatures.
  • Not recommended: Hot and humid southern areas, coastal regions with salt spray, and places with intense ultraviolet radiation. The organic base mat is prone to moisture damage, granule loss and decay, which greatly shortens the service life.

4. Unsuitable Buildings & Scenarios

  1. High-rise buildings and large-span factory buildings. The heavy weight increases roof load, and the product has a low fire resistance rating.
  2. Public buildings with strict standards for fire safety and durability, such as stadiums, shopping malls and schools.
  3. Flat roofs and roofs with a slope below 18.5°.
  4. Buildings located in hot, humid areas, coastal salt spray zones, or regions with frequent heavy rain and strong sunlight.
